This is so close, I am going to post the
*************SPOILER8**********************
Janice found an abandoned kitten with deformed paws on her property. She took it to the local Animal Rescue people, who took it to a vet. When the vet weighed him, he did not even register on the scales, which could not weigh anything less than 1 pound. The vet theorized that Mama Cat had ingested poison, which caused the bones to not develop in his front paws, which sort of flip and flap around loosely. However, he is a fiesty little scrap, and tried to claw the vet's staff with his back paws and ravage them
with his teeth! So the DVM gave him a good prognosis.
The A.R. folks took him and bottle fed him, and he is thriving, and may be able to go 'home' soon - but he has no home and could not survive on the streets. Janice has big dogs and could not take him in, but she called her sister Grace, who lives near me. Grace just recently lost her long-time pet Turtle (yes, a cat) and was looking to replace her. So Grace will soon be making the 600 mile drive to Oklahoma (one way - 1200 miles round trip) to pick up her new adoptee. He will be strictly a house cat, and there is no reason he should not live a long, happy, and spoiled rotten life.
And I thought I was a crazy cat lady!
