[WiZ] Gifts of the Maggie

Postby WiZ » Wed Dec 02, 2020 9:45 pm

Dylan promises Maggie that he will give her a wonderful gift. Dylan ends up losing the gift, and Maggie never receives it. However, both are very happy at this turn of events. Why?

Dylan = H/A/M? Maggie = H/A/F?
Are they friends? in a relationship? engaged? married? related?
Is the gift a tangible object?

Relevant what it was? How it was lost? Did the loss cause something good? Avoid something bad?

Are they siblings? mother and son? father and daughter? grandmother and grandson? grandfather and granddaughter? cousins? aunt and nephew? uncle and niece?

Was the gift meant to be a birthday gift? Christmas gift? wedding gift? Inheritances relevant?
Is the gift something that money can buy? Is it animate? inanimate? one object? multiple objects? something that is commonly given as a gift?
Did Dylan forget the gift somewhere? Was it lost in the mail? stolen? destroyed?

The bad thing that was avoided: financial loss? illness? death? conflict? embarrassment?

So, Dylan promised to donate an organ to Maggie, correct? Was the organ one that can be donated while the donor is still alive? If so, a kidney? a lung? a part of the liver? a part of the pancreas? Did the doctors discover that something was wrong with the organ Dylan was planning to donate? And thus safe his life?

So, Dylan promised to donate an organ to Maggie, correct? Correct Was the organ one that can be donated while the donor is still alive? If so, a kidney? yes to both a lung? a part of the liver? a part of the pancreas? no to rest Did the doctors discover that something was wrong with the organ Dylan was planning to donate? yes And thus safe his life? yes

The rest is detail.

***** SPOILER *****

They were brother and sister, and Maggie needed a kidney. Dylan pledged to donate one of his, but early inspections by the doctor revealed a growth that turned out to be cancerous (kidney cancers are notoriously difficult to detect before it's too late). Dylan's kidney was then removed, saving his life.

Maggie was later able to get a kidney from another suitable donor.

Congratulations, Doriana, on another quick solve, and thank you *checks notes* GalFisk for playing!
