Did he ask what type of razor? (electric, straight, safety, etc.) What brand of razor? (Gillette, Schick, etc.)
Is it relevant what kind of razor you did/do use?
Was the contractor working on your individual apartment? On your apartment building?

Did he ask what type of razor? (electric, straight, safety, etc.) Yesish What brand of razor? (Gillette, Schick, etc.) No.
Is it relevant what kind of razor you did/do use? It was relevant to him, not to this puzzle.
Was the contractor working on your individual apartment? Yes. On your apartment building? He was working in other units too, but this puzzle would work if it were just mine.

Did he want to borrow a razor? Did he want to shave? To use one for a different purpose? No to all. Relevant what he worked with? As in which tools? No, but the work he did is relevant. Did he want to cut something? No. Shave something? No. Did he need a shim? I had to Google what this is, but no.

Did the contractor work on your heating? plumbing? No to these two, but they're relevant. electricity? No but this is relevant as well. internet connection? walls? Yes. windows? floor? Yes, no to the rest of these. doors? furniture?
Did he do work in your living room? bedroom? kitchen? No. bathroom? Yope. hallway? balcony? I have a studio apartment, I don't have any designated rooms other than the bathroom and the kitchen, and he was working in various areas of the apartment.

Did he want to buy the same kind of razor? Did he see the hairs you shaved off? The skin you shaved? No to all.

Does he want your assistance? Is the question relevant to the job he's doing? Will he do the job differently based on your answer? If so, will it be done this way in order to help you out?

*facepalm* oops. I saw "internet connection?" and thought the "yes" was next to that rather than "walls". Sorries.

was he repairing tile on the walls and floor? (though I really have no idea what this has to do with razors...) replacing mirrors? fixing the windows? (I thought I saw a yes next to windows, I may be wrong)

was he working on the plumbing in your apartment? necessitating digging around in the walls and the floor? plumbing that served the kitchen and/or the bathroom? was there difficulty with the wiring in the walls? the insulation? was there *gasps* asbestos?! (long shot on that one, a studio apartment probably wouldn't have that, but then, I never know...)

Electricity: switches? Outlets? Cabling? Voltages? Fusing? Danger? Safety? Grounding? Charging? Is an electrically powered household object relevant? Relevant that your razor is not electric?

Electricity: switches? Outlets? This is relevant, but again, he was not servicing the outlet. Cabling? Voltages? Fusing? Danger? Safety? Grounding? Charging? Is an electrically powered household object relevant? Relevant that your razor is not electric? He was trying to find out if my razor was electric. Now what's left is to find out why. The answer to that question (no) is relevant to him but not to this puzzle - he would have asked it regardless as he did not know the answer.

Relevant that there are "shaver only" outlets? They're not relevant. Do you have one of these in your apartment? But it's notable that I do NOT have one.

Did he relevantly want to plug in some kind of equipment? YES! And really, all that's left is working out why he wanted to plug in the equipment, which isn't particularly lateral, so let's just end this here.

****SPOILER****

Back in October, part of my apartment flooded after the HVAC pipe ruptured (this is why heat/air conditioning and plumbing are relevant even though that's nnot what he was working on.) They had to plug in fans to dry the water off, and he wanted to plug in two of them next to the bathroom sink (which is outside the bathroom) but wanted to make sure I didn't need to plug in the electric razor. Good job everyone, especially Dorianna for the final solve. Be sure to check out my two other puzzles, the drinking one hasn't gotten some love in a while.
