[WiZ] Song and Dance Routine

Postby WiZ » Tue Apr 02, 2019 11:28 pm

A man is happily going about his daily routine when he hears his favourite song play. He is then sad. Why?

BOATS. Caveat Earlispoilor.

Does it play on an oldies station, and now he feels old? Is he sad because of a memory? Because of loss? Because of the future? The present? Relevant how he hears it? Why? Where from? When? Who decided to play it?

***** SPOILER *****

He is at the supermarket, and hears the song being played over the speakers, along with a range of other older more old-fashioned and melodic songs. He is sad to realise that his taste in music is now considered bland and inoffensive enough to play as supermarket muzak, and feels old.

Congratulations, GalFisk. I don't know if that was a triumph of questioning, or a disaster of puzzle-setting. I think we'd both be happy if we called it the former.

Haha, thanks. Sorry for the instaspoil.
I was inspired by the line "When did Mötley Crüe become classic rock?" from the song 1985 by SR-71 (Famously covered by Bowling for Soup). Both versions are in my punk rock playlist.
