Did she die immediately after receiving the gift? Minutes after? Hours? Days? Months? Years?

Did she like receiving it? Is it something that someone would normally enjoy receiving?

Was it a physical item?

Did she die accidentally? Murder? If it was at someone else's hand, was it the person who gave her the gift?

If she hadn't received the gift, would she still have died? Is the gift itself responsible for her death? If so, are there other similar gifts she could have received that would have killed her?

Was the gift unique? Was it homemade? If a typical person saw the gift, would they immediately recognize what it was?

Was the occasion for the gift-giving relevant? Is the relationship between her and the gift-giver relevant? Is the era relevant? The location? The time of the year?

Is the gift-giver a HAM? HAF? Is the gender irrelevant?

Was the gift-giver a stranger? A family member? A friend? An acquaintance? A lover?

Was the cause of death:
Drowning?
Blunt force trauma?
Poison?
Electrocution?
Strangling?
Loss of Blood?
Disease?

Is the gift-giver a HAM? Yes.
HAF?
Is the gender irrelevant? It is not irrelevant in that this situation would really only happen between a HAM and HAF.

Was the gift-giver a stranger?
A family member?
A friend?
An acquaintance?
A lover? This. There's something else about their relationship that is also important.

Was the cause of death:
Drowning?
Blunt force trauma?
Poison?
Electrocution?
Strangling?
Loss of Blood? This is the closest but not quite.
Disease?

Are she and the gift-giver married? To each other? Dating? In an illicit relationship?
Did she die from a stab wound?

Can we name these characters? How about Shannon for "she" and Alan for the gift-giver?

Are she and the gift-giver married? Yes.
To each other? Yes, but there is something ELSE about their relationship that is important!
Dating?
In an illicit relationship?
Did she die from a stab wound? Yes! I've posted this before on the old forum years ago, and I remember your name so you might have seen this one (Though I'd honestly be surprised.)

Can we name these characters?
How about Shannon for "she" and Alan for the gift-giver? Sure.

Are either Shannon or Alan having an affair?
Relevant how long they've been married? Newlyweds? 10+ years? 20+? 30+?
Is either of their ages relevant?
Is it relevant what particular object stabbed Shannon? Is the gift the object?

Is it relevant where she was stabbed? Inside? Outside? In public? In private? At home? At work? At a place of business?
Would it be more accurate to say she was impaled?

Was she a trapeze artist? Lion tamer? Tightrope walker?
Ooh, better: Was she a knife-thrower's assistant?
...and typing that makes me think I remember the answer. Should I supply it, or let others guess?

OK.
Shannon's husband Alan bought her a new pair of shoes. The shoes had a different height than her previous shoes, so when she wore them to work as a knife-thrower's assistant, she was in a slightly different position and was hit by the knives.
